My Youtube Channel

Throughout my misspent youth I acquired a gorgeous collection of guitars, amplifiers and speaker cabinets. This collection means the world to me. On my days off I’ve started making video demonstrations of some of my favourite pieces of equipment, partly as a way to direct some traffic towards my channel and to grow my piano tuning business.

I haven’t uploaded any piano or piano tuning related videos yet. Mainly because I don’t currently have a piano at home. I’ve been contemplating buying a small Yamaha piano (I’ve perused the Piano Man shop in Leeds, in between piano tuning jobs), but it’s not on the cards right now. I do a lot of writing/recording and most of that tends to be rock music centred around rather simple, joyous guitar riffs.

New single ‘Reaper’ by my band Apostle

We had some fun in the studio working on this track, which ended up being a homage to Ozzy Osbourne. We used some nice vintage Keyboards and a Moog synth courtesy of Chris Allen to bring the song back from the dead! The lyric video was designed by Scott Rudd whose clientele includes Iron Maiden, Kiss and Opeth. We recorded quite quickly and due to time constraints, all my guitars were done in my home studio on a boiling hot day… all in all I’m pleased with the sound we achieved.

So this is what the Leeds piano tuner is doing when not at work! I never gave up on my first love of writing and recording music… even if it doesn’t put bread on the table quite like an out-of-tune piano does!

Don’t forget to like and subscribe to our youtube channel, there is plenty more music on the way! Also watch out for live gigs coming up in Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield and Sheffield, so maybe I can fit some piano tuning in beforehand 😉

New-found fame for the piano tuner

In between tuning pianos and repairing broken hammer flanges, the Leeds and Bradford Piano Tuner has been working hard on writing a debut album with his band Apostles of Chaos. A proggish blend of classic and modern rock, there have been very flattering comparisons to Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Thin Lizzy in the first reviews. Unfortunately no piano-playing appears on the album, it’s all keyboards, guitars, bass, vocals and drums. Next time I’m in the studio a few arpeggiated chords on a perfectly tuned Yamaha U1 will be thrown in for good measure!
